They are eight to sixteen hands tall making them a good option for riding or an animal companion for the family.


Modern Appaloosa horses are very popular. Their small size and coats with spots make them suitable
for children as well as adults. Appaloosas are similar to Quarter horses in conformation, however,
it's not as common in solid colors. Appaloosas are distinguished by their spots .

They are more likely to be apricots chestnuts or browns than quarter horses.
The Appaloosa horse has a very long tail and is very similar to the Quarter horse.
